Through 3 Quarters

The Marshall Thundering Herd are giving their home crowd exactly what it was hoping to see. Three quarters in and their offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating the North Carolina Central Eagles 37-7 three quarters in.

Both Marshall and North Carolina Central padded the win column in their previous outings. It's looking like the Thundering Herd will be able to keep the momentum, but North Carolina Central still has a quarter to right the ship.

What to Know

The North Carolina Central Eagles watched the action from their couches last weekend, but are set to take to the field. They will square off against the Marshall Thundering Herd at 6:30 p.m. ET Saturday at Joan C. Edwards Stadium.

It was all tied up 7-7 at the half for North Carolina Central and the Alcorn State Braves two weeks ago, but the Eagles stepped up in the second half for a 23-14 victory.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Marshall's strategy against the Navy Midshipmen last week. The Thundering Herd were completely in charge, breezing past Navy 49-7 on the road. The oddsmakers were on Marshall's side, but they didn't give the team enough credit as the margin was unexpectedly wide. Marshall's RB Rasheen Ali was one of the most active players for the squad, punching in four rushing touchdowns.

Marshall's defense was a presence as well, as it embarrassed the Midshipmen's offensive line to sack the QB nine times for a total loss of 42 yards. It was a group effort with seven guys contributing.

Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 1-0. Watch the contest and check back on CBS Sports to find out who keeps up the positive energy and who hits a stumbling block.
